Day 52

Today was a refreshingly “normal” day. No rushing to be anywhere, no big miles to push, no resupply, nothing out of the ordinary at all. It’s been a while since I’ve had a day like that and it was dull, but nice in its dullness. Did 20 miles today which has become my new comfort zone. I can do 20 with enough time left in the day to set up camp, cook, chat, and still have a little alone time and plenty of sleep.

Camp tonight is the busiest I’ve seen it since Georgia. There are about 10 section hikers in two separate groups, along with myself and 2 other thruhikers. One group of section hikers is a group of guys who all go to the same church and they’re an absolute riot. It was fun chatting with them during dinner.

I suppose that’s all for tonight. Im in my tent bracing for a light rain and maybe some thunderstorms. The weather looks rough this week, lots of rain, but maybe we’ll hike out of it.
